All of our eastern white pine is obtained through a federal program designed to promote healthier, more robust pine forests here in New England. Through this effort, malformed pine trees are harvested to make room for their properly developed counterparts. The logs are then locally sawn and dried to the specifications we require to commence the weathering process.
We use only a mild organic compound prior to weathering in order to jump start the process. From there, we let nature take over. When our weathered boards finally ship, they are completely free of any additives and have turned a stunning silvery gray from the sun and salty coastal air.
